Yoga and Elvis?

Summer is definitely impending and so is the reality of getting in shape. Bikram yoga is not for the yoga purist, but there is nothing like a week of it to burn off the winter blues.
Clearly, Elvis' flexibility is limited to his own brand of movement!

A Cut Out to a Throwback

A little 1930's revival is at home in 2011 with some nice cut outs and an updated silhouette a la Yeojin Bae. I'm kinda excited about the green as the print reminds me of a vintage scarf I picked up some years ago.

Jill Stuart or Kara Walker?

These Jill Stuart pieces from Spring 2011 (top two images) are incredibly similar to the work of artist Kara Walker (bottom three images). Though, I don't believe this was a collaboration. Art imitates life, or vice versa?

Prints for dresses

Gorgeous dress with a Deco inspired Motif print. Although I'm a bit unsure how I feel about the shirt tail, I can only be inspired by it's simplicity -and of course print. On sale now: Yeojin Bae

Prints for Walls

I've always wanted to wallpaper only the inside of my closet. It may be best to stick with a print that is a little more neutral as my closet is already pretty lively due to my penchant for prints. Though, that doesn't stop me from admiring these vintage patterns. When is more too much?

Turkish Summer

It's been so nice these past couple of days. I can't help but daydream about summer, being finished with school, grabbing my suite, a book and a super absorbent -not to mention cute, Peshtemal towel from Turkey.

Pleats Please!

This is from 2007, I think it's a good time to bring it out. I'm really liking the over abundance of pleats, which I never thought I would say.

Eva Hesse

If you are in the bay area: this evening at BAM, Eva Hesse Studio Work will be on view in conjunction with a lecture by Briony Fer (free). It will be a great opportunity to see some of her smaller experimental work. I cannot wait!!!

Guinea Pigs and Bananas

... are the two things my boyfriend hates the most, but I am quite fond of.

Cookie was my first real childhood pet, these paintings by Cornelius Völker remind me of him:

Banana ripening chart, possibly for the kitchen?

I've been tagged... 5 Daily Essentials

1. Giant Scarf (to the left of photo)
Two are pictured here, I never leave the house without one. Picked the black one up at a bazaar in Tehran, and by picked it up, I mean scoured the entire place for the perfect one.
The other, a gift from my boyfriend, the pattern looks great on either side and it incredibly warm.
2. Lipstick
Guerlain in Greta for the evening. Clever packaging by Lorenz Baumer.
For on the go daytime, Benefit Rush Hour Lipstick, a cream color for lips and cheeks.
I'm a total sucker for packaging.
3. Jewelery
I can never leave the house with at least one piece. The anchor necklace was given to me by my paternal grandma before she passed, and the turquoise ring is from my maternal grandma. Love, love, love!
4.
Notebook + Camera
These two go hand in hand. The camera (Canon Powershot S90) is my visual diary and the notebook is for jotting down all the fleeting ideas and thoughts that occur throughout the day.

5. A splash of Perfume
It's been Juliette has a Gun by Lady Vengeance this past year. A Bulgarian rose scent mixed with patchouli and vanilla, but it doesn't hit you over the head with either note.
